Abstract
The thermal conductivity κ of Y(Ba1-ySry)2Cu3O7 and La2-xSrxCuO4 has been studied. Heat carriers in the samples which exhibit superconducting transition, are found to be phonons, while in the nonsuperconducting metallic x region of La2-xSrxCuO4, electrons mainly carry the heat current. Just below Tc, κ exhibits a linear increase in temperature T as T decreases, which seems to be somewhat different from the behavior expected by Tewordt et al. for the s-wave pairing.
