Abstract

Multi-wavelength adiabaticity engineering is utilized in optical waveguides to design an ultra-broadband silicon polarization splitter-rotator. A 141μm-long device exhibits excellent performance with >97% transmission and >16 dB extinction ratio over a bandwidth of 300nm.
