Abstract

Urea impregnation to promote porosity development of carbons, prepared from phenol-formaldehyde resins, was discussed. Phenol-formaldehyde resin was synthesized in nitrogen at 95°C in the presence of ammonium hydroxide catalyst. The rate of carbon gasification was found to be affected by urea impregnation.
