Abstract
In the present study, the digital projection Moiré method with wavelet transformation and phase-shifting technique has been applied to measure the out-of-plane deformation of a PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) cantilever beam. In the digital projection Moiré method, the parallel grating lines are projected onto the specimen surface and captured by a CCD camera. The projection Moiré patterns are generated by the captured image and a virtual reference grating produced from the digital image process. Clear Moiré patterns can be obtained by the 2D Debauchies wavelet transformation. The phase-shifting method can also be realized by changing the phase of the virtual reference grating. Finally, the experimental results are compared with the calculations from the finite element method.
