Abstract

The shearable coherent precipitates and precipitation free zones of the Al-Mg-Si alloy with respect to different aging conditions resulted in localization of strain on persistant slip planes and grain boundaries respectively. And these inhomogeneous deformation related to the precipitation behavior significantly affected the vibration properties of the Al-Mg-Si alloy, including damping capacity and deflection amplitude under resonance.
