Abstract
THE BOUNDARY INTEGRAL EQUATION METHOD IS APPLIED TO EXAMINETHE EFFECTIVENESS OF BOTH THE VERTICAL AND THE INCLINED THIN BREAKWATER. THE ACCURACY OF THE NUMERICAL TECHNIQUE IS DEMONSTRATED BY COMPARING NUMERICAL RESULTS WITH ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS FOR A VERTICAL BREAKWATER IN A DEEP WATER. NUMERICAL RESULTS IN TERMS OF BOTH REFLECTION COEFFICIENT AND TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENT ARE PRESENTED FOR BOTH VERTICAL AND INCLINED THIN BREAKWATER.
