Yield stress as a function of tensile temperature for Al- (0-0.76 wt%) Mg alloys with [111] fiber texture

Abstract

The tensile properties of as-extruded pure aluminum and Mg-added alloy with [111] fiber texture revealed strong texture hardening. As the magnesium addition was expanded from 0 to 0.76 wt%, a concave downward dependence between yield stress and magnesium addition occurred, indicating that the maximum yield stress occurs when the material contains roughly 0.43 wt%.
