This study is about the temple-troupe-participating adolescents in Taiwan. They are often seen as delinquents due to the prejudice in Taiwan Society. However, not all of them are misbehaved. There are still a lot of teenagers dedicating themselves to preserving the culture. The main purpose of this study is to find out what changes they had made after joining the temple-troupe. The researcher refers to Social bond theory (Hirschi,1969), trying to find out the bond between the adolescents and the temple-troupe. By using the qualitative research method, we can better understand the motivation and the connection between them. The result shows that they learn various personal traits through the temple-troupe, such as perseverance, honesty, cooperation, and the desire to pass on the culture. Besides, those bonds, such as the belief in God and the attachment with temple-troupe, can truly influence the adolescents’ behavior and attitude, making them less probable to conduct deviant behavior.
