Abstract

Methods of tectonic, after the classical age, the pre-digital period and then to the digital age, the processing of design had Significantly changed, with the tools of design and manufacture. The methods and logic also have astonishing growth. Since digital technology had become a new media of Aided Design, like 3D modeling software, generative systems and algorithms, and computer-aided design and manufacturing equipment, construction of architecture and forming can have more possibilities. This reason made that computer is not only tools of drawing for architectural design, but also the important roles for design of architecture, shaping, structure, processing. After the digital age, the Computer-Aided design and lots of software tools help us can save a lot of computing time in processing and develop the complex froming evolution, and then make it into diversity and changeable. Manufacturing tools and equipments have straightly effect and more accurate to produce the models and components we need.

This objective of research is to develop the cutting of planar patterns and analysis of material properties, on the basis, machining the unexpected three-dimensional models for shaping the new from and exploring more possibilities. In the design process, this research used “Rhinocers” and the plug-in “ Grasshopper” to experiment and study preliminary research by hand-made models; then developed it by the programming of softwares, structural operating and 3D rendering. With “CAM”, computer-aided design equipment, to make the practical generating, to use laser cutting machine for cutting the wood veneer to get the components of model and then assembled them. Furthermore, record the process of assembly and the of force and deformation performance on the three-dimensional vectors, to achieve a series of model works.
