Abstract

Xu Xiaobin was classified as one of contemporary women writers who were keen on writing, and she repeatedly wrote the rough situation of women and the existence of people with delicate and complicated, mysterious and blurred style in writing. However, limited by the collective language context and market trends, her works was gradually carried weight on the history of literature after 1990s.
This article will discuss the origin of the writing consciousness, women’s status, the attitude of personalized writing and the transformation of writing through the writer’s life experiences and the text as reference, and quote the feminism, psychoanalysis, mysticism, the contraposition of paradox, the literary motif of “pursuing” and the myth based on the five lengthy novels which were respectively named Seafire (Haihuo 海火), Dunhuang Dream (Dunhuang yimeng 敦煌遺夢), Feathered serpent (Yushe 羽蛇) , Princess Der Ling (Deling gong zhu 德齡公主), and The Flower of Purgatory (Lian Yu Zhi Hua 煉獄之花).
This essay has six chapters: The introduction will state the importance of Xu Xiaobin, and then list the cross-Strait current situation of research, common perspective, the value of study and structure of essay as the beginning of the overall discourse. The second chapter will discuss the author’s life experiences based on the view of writers, and look for the writing origin of Xu Xiaobin and her foundation of basic idea from the psychological view of the development of childhood and the plot of replication. The third chapter will discuss from the symbolic perspective, mysterious thinking and feminism, based on the first lengthy novel Seafire of the author and his representative work Feathered serpent, to reveal the women’s status, gender relationship and writing complex. The fourth chapter will discuss from the author’s life experiences and the thinking of new historicism, and talk about the travel, personal experience and to witness their personalized writing, from that to know more about the writer’s thought for the destiny of journey and seeking of love, and still based on Feathered serpent as the main text and also the discussion of Dunhuang Dream. The fifth chapter will discuss the transformation of writing and the praise and concern of new writing style from the development of the text genealogy, and correspond to the contemporary social situation and writers’ works. The sixth chapter was the conclusion of this essay, in order to summarize the article’s achievement. The purpose was to know more about the differences of Xu Xiaobin’s writing, and promote more people’s interests toward to the writing style.
