Abstract

As a national symbol, Sakura spirit, which was derived from Sakura, has deeply ingrained in Japanese national cognition and become a part of their psychological structure. Sakura spirit is also a common punctum in the culture, behavior and art. Moreover, it resonated with “Yugen,(幽玄)” and “Wabi-sabi(侘寂)” in aesthetics. Mika Ninagawa (蜷川実花,1972-), a Sakura lover, is a contemporary top-notch Japanese photography. She has worked in various fields like graphic and advertising photography, art and film direct. The gorgeous color as well as the massive usage of “Nature and Synthetic Flower,” “Gold Fishes,” and “Portrait” made viewers recognize whether it is Mika Ninagawa’s artwork easily. Her artwork has presented not just in graphic, but convert into installation art in 3-dimensions in her several exhibitions. These elements, which Mika Ninagawa used, became her own symbols and also appeared in the films she directed. Her style is different from Japanese minimalism aesthetics, and outside the box of “The Generation of The Female Photography (“女の子写真”の時代).” Based on the principle of aesthetics, she dabbled in every type of areas perfectly without losing the spirit of Japanese culture. The characteristic style of Mika Ninagawa is not only connected with the social issues and spirituality by the Sakura spirit. Moreover, her artwork has achieved healing from the review of art. She has developed a new view way by the Sakura spirit in the modern age of globalization, tand expanded the diversity of viewers successfully.
