Abstract
Ma Boyong's novel " The Longest Day In Chang’an " was serialized on the website of China 17k Novel in 2018, and published in the same year. Further it was adapted for a film in 2019 to be broadcast to major streaming services and TV stations. The plot is about a terrorist attack that occurred in Chang'an, the capital during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and on the day of the Shangyuan Festival in the third year of Tianbao. After its launch in China in 2019, it became an sensation of oriental anti-terrorist dramas.The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and adapt the text of Ma Boyong's novel " The Longest Day In Chang’an " and the web series of the same name. In the comparison of different media with the same story, I look forward to discovering new creative elements in order to show the artistic culture and meaning of film and television communication.
