Abstract

This paper performed comparative analysis of the efficiency of central and two-sided drainage in the road side ditch system by SWMM simulation Water level flow rate and flow velocity of different drainage widths and drainage configurations were examined Adapting central drainage for road side ditch reserves road side space for embedding critical infrastructure pipelines As a result infrastructure pipelines are separated from rain water Road excavation for pipeline repair is avoided Hence pipeline repair coast is reduced Improvement of ditch flow velocity reduces sediments in ditches and cost of ditch sediment dredge For Tianxi(I) 127th land replotting region of Tainan city hydrological simulation results on the efficiency of central and two-sided drainage in the road side ditch system showed that central drainage reduces 40% cost and 35~40% of required land area Hence SWMM simulation is qualified for planning road side ditch system for city land replotting region
