Abstract

The current implementation of recovery-oriented services in Taiwan is not popular and related research is limited We conducted individual in-depth interviews with 14 professionals to understand their experiences and thoughts in implementing recovery-oriented services Thematic analysis was used to extract appropriate themes Our study found that professionals implemented recovery-oriented services with the basic principles of recovery The difficulties in implementing recovery-oriented services involved several aspects including policies professionals people with mental illness family members and the general public In the future relevant policies and professional education systems must be adjusted and education for people with mental illness their family members and the general public should be strengthened to support the recovery of people with mental illness and improve services effectively Key words: Recovery people with mental illness recovery-oriented service professionals
