In recent years climate change increases the frequency of extreme weather events For example sea level rising or extreme hydrological events due to greenhouse effect gradually become normalcy Hence for evaluating the efficiency of double-layer detached breakwater this study compares the efficiencies of detached breakwaters at Linbian coast of Kifeng and Shui-li Village Pintung County Also related literature is reviewed to compare current situation with experiment results on similar condition In addition the comparison between current situation and reinforced breakwater are made for investigating the methods of handling breakwater depression or sea level rise With topography and bathymetry maps of 2015 and air photographs of 2020 this study investigated the efficiencies of single-layer detached breakwaters and following detached breakwaters thickness and height reinforcement at Linbian coast of Kifeng and Shui-li Village Pintung County In conclusion the sedimentation area of double-layer detached breakwaters is 1 78 times larger than that of single-layer detached breakwaters The sedimentation area of double-layer detached breakwaters is 1 25 times larger than that of reinforced detached breakwaters However double-layer detached breakwaters hinder northward sediment transport from Linbian Stream As a result northern coast is eroded
