Abstract

Building Technical Regulations have requirements for the sound insulation and fire resistance of partition walls and certain areas in a building need to have both properties However the construction methods of soundproof partition walls and fireproof partition walls on the market are slightly different The choice of construction method used on the construction site will cause doubts about the performance judgment Therefore the purpose of this study is to use the same construction method to build partition walls and conduct performance tests to find the partition walls that have both sound insulation and fire resistance performance The light steel frame partition wall can divide into panel material skeleton material insulation material and caulk material This study compares the material specifications of soundproof partition walls in the regulations with the material specifications of partition walls that pass the sound insulation test or fire test It was found that in terms of the total area density of the board and the insulation thickness the regulatory specifications are much higher than the commercially available partition wall specifications This phenomenon shows that the method provided by the regulations to directly declare the amount of sound insulation without testing requires more discussion and research to assist in order to facilitate the implementation and improvement of the regulations This study refers to the material specifications of the sound insulation partition wall in the Building Technical Regulations as the materials used for the test specimen It conducts fire tests according to the provisions of the Chinese National Standards In the single-layer partition wall fire test the exposed surface board's integrity has a very significant effect on insulation performance The results of the double-layer partition wall fire test show that the number of board layers has a direct effect on the fire rate While from the reinforced double-layer partition wall fire test this study found that the reinforced rail provides stability of the local structure of the stud Although there is no direct effect on the fire rate the stud structure's maintenance will indirectly affect the fire rate of the wall
