Abstract

This study used the impulse response method to estimate pile length pile cap thickness and defect locations of a group pile in NCKU Discrete wavelet transform was used to decompose the velocity time history data obtained from field tests Filtering was done by removing the decomposed layers that contained high frequency noises and reconstruct the rest of the layers Discrete wavelet transform was also used to separate the reflected defect signals from noises and reflected pile bottom signal to estimate the defect locations The results of the estimation of pile bottom are acceptable However the estimations of the thickness of pile cap and defect locations are not as prominent
