In this thesis we discuss the nonlinear dynamics and extreme events in the pump-modulated laser system We operate at the cavity length which is close to the transverse mode-degenerate configuration and pump the gain medium by different pumping spot sizes When the modulation frequency is close to the relaxation oscillation frequency the chaotic regime can be observed when the modulation depth increases to a given threshold And we also observe the extreme event in the solid-state laser system and the threshold of the modulation depth for the extreme events relates to the modulation frequency and the results of the experiment and simulation agree well with each other
