Abstract

With the rapid growth of Internet of Things it can be expected that all physical things will be connected to the internet However the internet only provides the communication channel for the IoT devices If we want to make the IoT devices autonomous communication understanding and cooperation with each other it must have to establish a communication protocol and to define a consistent semantic format This thesis implements the semantic web service in the IoT devices and uses REST/HTTP as the platform to make devices communicate and cooperate with each other Moreover in order to realize the automatic service composition we use the HATEOAS mechanism to let the IoT devices automatic exchange the semantic information with each other Therefore the user’s service requirement can be transformed into a service plan which is composed of a sequence of semantic descriptions We also propose a service plan transformation mechanism to change the execution architecture from centralized mode to distributed mode Distributed architecture not only overcomes the disadvantage of centralized architecture but also realizes the IoT devices autonomous communication and service composition In this thesis the devices with limited resource of computation are the implementing targets of the proposed method Moreover we designed a scenario to illustrate the execution procedure and result of the proposed method The scenario contains environment information real-time detection device real-time controlling and alarm real time delivering In our experiment we compared the execution performance of the distributed architecture method (the proposed method) with the traditional centralized architecture methods The experimental result shows that our approach not only is practicable but also effective improves the execution performance
