Background: Helping relationships from significant others (HRSO) may assist individuals for improving health outcomes such as health-promoting behaviors stage of behavior change quality of life (QOL) and physical indicators and delay chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression The stage-matched of HRSO interventions based on transtheoretical model (TTM) serves as a framework for adopting health-promoting behaviors advanced exercise and diet of stage of change increasing QOL and improving physical indicators The HRSO including understanding caring and coaching is effectively associated with health outcomes for patients with early stages of CKD However no study investigated the effectiveness of a stage of change tailored of HRSO interventions among individuals with CKD Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of stage-matched of HRSO interventions based on the TTM framework including health-promoting behaviors stage of change quality of QOL and physical indicators Methods: This was an experimental study using repeated measurements and implemented one year The research instruments included HRSO Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile (HPLP-IIC) and Exercise and Diet stage of change QOL (WHOQOL-BREF) and physical indicators 120 patients in 1-4 stage of CKD were enrolled in the study and randomly assigned to the control or intervention groups The experimental group will receive the intervention of HR from significant others There were 52 participants in the intervention group while 53 participants in the control group Every 3 months measured the tendency of health outcomes for one year excluded QOL measured every 6 months The generalized estimating equation was used to determine whether outcome variables were different across time in patients in the experimental and control groups The comorbidity has been adjusted due to group differences at baseline for performing generalized estimating equation model to evaluate the efficacy of interventions Results: The effectiveness of interventions of HRSO assisted CKD patients in adhering health-promoting behaviors exercise and diet stage of change as well as improving QOL and physical indicators
