Due to global competition enterprises have encountered increasingly more international competitors competing in their particular markets In reality new products are so rapidly designed to produce to meet with the needs in the markets that are dramatically shortened product life cycles Thus developing new products to satisfy customers’ demand in limited time has become a new challenge for these enterprises TRIZ a Russian acronym means “Theory of Inventive Problem Solving ” has been proven to be a well-structured method and innovative way to solve problems in both technical and non-technical areas Quality Function Deployment (QFD) can identify the critical determinants of customer satisfaction After TRIZ there are some specific corresponding parameters which can be effectively applied in a TRIZ contradiction matrix to recognize the inventive principles In this study we proposed the new product design procedure that can systematically execute all of the processes from “product planning” to “conceptual design”’ through QFD and TRIZ without relying on the intuition or experience of the designer This new product design flow is based on the TRIZ methodology and QFD to satisfy the market demand This paper demonstrates an example that it is possible to integrate QFD and TRIZ as a system that can utilize QFD for identifying the engineering parameters and utilizing TRIZ innovation principles to achieve solutions Finally design of a rucksack suitable for traveling with a camera is created It can provide not only better protection for the camera but also an easy picked-up at any time; in the meantime it also provides the progress with a consideration of users’ hands-on experience that can be applied to further product design soon
