Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) has recently attracted a lot of attention because of its potential for inter-cell interference (ICI) mitigation and spectral efficiency improvement A group of base stations (BSs) can form a cluster to cooperate mitigating severe ICI However the BSs belong to different clusters still introduce interference to each other unless a proper scheduling is in place It is known that the optimal scheduling that maximizes the sum capacity requires an exhaustive search and thus is difficult to implement in practice In this thesis we propose an interference manage scheduling scheme in order to effectively manage ICI at uplink The objective of the proposed scheduling scheme is to mitigate serious ICI in the system with a high frequency reuse A weighting function is employed to choose a transmission pattern that has the lowest ICI from all the combinations during a scheduling cycle Simulation results show that the proposed scheduling scheme achieves the comparable performance to the optimal solution with about 48% reduction of the complexity In addition over 60% of the mobile stations (MSs) can transmit in higher capacity
