Abstract

Bridges can not only shorten the traffic distance between two countries but also be the most efficient and a fast way to provide disaster relief when disasters occur Taiwan is located at the junction of the Eurasian plate and the Philippine Sea plate It is located in the active seismic area The probability of earthquakes is quite high The 921 Earthquake in 1988 was the most serious earthquake in Taiwan in recent years which caused the destruction and collapse of many bridges in the central and southern regions delayed the material and casualty relief in many disaster areas This shows the importance of earthquake resistance and assessment of bridges In this study the finite element model of Abaqus software is used to analyze the interaction between piles and soil Firstly the sand box test is validated by Abaqus numerical model The bridge and soil of the sand box test are simulated by the finite element model The results of the dynamic analysis of the test are compared and confirms that the Abaqus software can effectively solve the dynamic analysis of the pile-soil interaction model A 1:1 model for static and dynamic analysis of the ramp bridge of National Highway No 2 Da-Yuan Exchange Road is established to simulate the failure behavior of the bridge structure with soil under lateral thrust and dynamic earthquake acceleration
