Abstract

This thesis mainly focuses on how Chang Yi-Hsuan’s works demonstrate the transformation of gender order in the 1990s the time after the abolition of martial law in Taiwan Applying the connotative “subject position” as the starting point this thesis will discuss the subjectivity of "Lesbian" and "Female" reformulated and multiple narratives in Chang Yi-Hsuan’s works By criticizing "patriarchy" and "heteronormativity " the dominant social gender structure Chang’s works raise the issue of "heterogeneity " highlight the interpretation of individual heterogeneity and reflect the important process of considering the "subjectivity" of the characters
