With the process of urbanization the development and utilization of urban resources have reached a certain level nowadays The ability of urban environment adapting to natural climate is diminishing especially in urban water environment which facing not only the occurrence of urban floods but also the drought phenomenon and the urban heat island effect Therefore the thinking of design starts from the sustainable development of urban environment attempting to construct a water cycle system which is conducive to the recycle and reuse of water resources Also “reuse” and “on-site circulation” can not only achieve the goal of promoting the optimal use of energy but also reduce energy consumption and environmental burden caused by long distance movement of resources On sustainable and ecological issues the building envelope system acts as an interface between nature and architecture in urban environment Using this special space as a green object of urban environment with high density and insufficient green area can slow down the urban heat island effect In addition if we can combine the recycle and reuse of water resources forming a building envelope system with water cycle it can also implement the concept of “reuse” and “on-site circulation” achieving the effect of reshaping the urban landscape and improving the space quality Water is an important resource in urban environment through water circulation can even make the most effective use of limited water resources The thesis based on urban issues of water environment exploring how urban water resources change from highly dependence on the large water infrastructures to the building scale water systems Also the thesis extended from the relationship of water and the building envelope system researching the integration relationship between rainwater collection system reclaimed water system water treatment system and greening system which makes a water cycle system implements in the existing residential building envelope systems In the meanwhile it can improve the living quality of the existing residential buildings to create a new lifestyle that belongs to water cycle It can also form a more comprehensive and three-dimensional way of water retention and greening In addition the models are also discussed and tested through implementation
