Abstract

SUMMARY This study aimed to examine the psychological needs of older adults and its relationship with their quality of life in institutions by using the self-determination theory The research method is cross-sectional by using convenience sampling method to conduct a person-to-person interview with residents receiving instructional care in Taiwan The psychological needs scale and the EQ-5D were measured and Hierarchical Linear Regression was conducted for data analyses Keywords: self-determination theory long-term care decision-making process
