The main purposes of this research were to understand the impact of moral disengagement and social empathy of behavioral intentions as cyberbullying bystander of junior high school students and to investigate the difference of behavioral intentions as cyberbullying bystander from the relationship of bystanders and victims: the victim is who I like and who I dislike and to investigate the relationships among moral disengagement social empathy and behavioral intentions as cyberbullying bystander of junior high students and to predict junior high students’ intentions as cyberbullying bystander by moral disengagement and social empathy A self-reported data was conducted with 516 junior high school students in Tainan The data obtained from the samples were analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis t-test Pearson’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis The results indicated that when the victim was who I liked junior high school students who had higher level of moral disengagement and lower level of social empathy were more likely to join in cyberbullying as perpetrators Due to higher levels of social empathy junior high school students were more likely to help the victim Outsider was related to lower levels of social empathy When the victim was who I disliked junior high school students who had higher level of moral disengagement were more likely to join in cyberbullying as perpetrators Defender was related to lower level of moral disengagement and higher level of social empathy Outsider was related to lower level of moral disengagement The implications of this research on cyberbullying are discussed
