The Promotion for the Community Common Life and the Community Environment for the Elderly- the Communities of Guoping in Anping District and Longtian in Guantian District in Tainan

Abstract

The sites in the study are located in two places in Tainan which are Gouping in Anping District and Lontian in Guantian District The former one is considered an urban community and the other is considered a rural community The research respectively targeted the elderly who join and do not join community activities Three research methods including questionnaire survey method interview method and participant observation were applied to help further understand the daily living of the aged people Next we aimed to further understand the environment and daily living of the aged communities by two aspects that community organizations had made influence Moreover the elderly’s daily living and participation in community activities were analyzed as well Finally the result of the study indicated that community organizations play a significant role in assisting and enriching the elderly’s living and delaying aging
