Abstract

This study adapted Donabedian model as the theoretical framework for structuring a survey to investigate the quality of care towards reablement services in Taiwan long-term care 2 0 (LTC 2 0) from service users’ case managers’ and service providers’ perspectives simultaneously and compare them We use existing literature experts review and fieldwork context to modify the patient satisfaction questionnaire (PSQ-18) futher generated 3 versions of online questionnaires for service users’ case managers’ and service providers’ perspectives Quantitative results indicated that the perceptions among service users case managers and service providers might be positive overall with partial disagreements Qualitative results corresponded with quantitative results Narrative comments indicated additional fieldwork issues not covered by our research questionnaire The study is unique in describing and comparing the experiences upon reablement services in Taiwan LTC 2 0 from multiple perspectives Relatively lower ratings found in results disclosed that LTC 2 0 system might need to: 1) define the role of case managers better; 2) clarify the expectations towards reablement services; 3) promote mutual communication and interaction between service users/service providers Refining of current educational training system and trans-disciplinary conferences could be considered Qualitative research are recommended in the future By improving study design evidences with better validity would be the foundation for future policy revision
