Abstract

According to the traffic accident statistics of the National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior (NPA) the driver’s fault is the main cause of the accident and it accounts for more than 95% of the total number of cases Driving behavior is influenced by personality traits which leads to deviant driving and then affects driving safety This study explores the impact of personality traits risk perception and attitude towards traffic safety on risky driving behavior finds impact factors that affect drivers’ risky driving behavior through literature review and constructs a causal model of risky driving Finally the structural equation model (SEM) is used to verify the model constructed in this study in order to explore the causal relationship between the driver's personality traits attitude towards traffic safety and risk perception and risky driving behavior Through online questionnaire surveys a total of 1 080 effective samples were collected The analysis results show that personality traits have a direct impact on risky driving behavior and attitude towards traffic safety and risk perception also affect risky driving behavior indirectly
