Abstract
The current study is to investigate the relationship of the sexrole attitude and the degree of job involvement for college
teachers in Taiwan. Survey data from random sample of 393
college teachers of 56 colleges were collected and also used to
assess the gender differences between men and women in terms of
sex role attitude and job involvement. Survey questionnaire was
mailed and SAS windows 6.11 package was used to analyze data.
The results show that the correlation between sex role attitude
and job involvement is not significant for male teachers, but
statistically significant (r =.13) for female teachers. The
results also indicate that male teachers have more conservative
sex role attitude than female teachers, and the older (more than
51-year-old ) teachers also have more conservative sex role
attitude than younger teachers. However, there is no difference
between male and female on job involvement, or married and
unmarried teachers neither.
