Abstract

Understanding urban features with urban morphology helps to propose a management of the urban landscape which is based on the development of history In Taiwan the historical cities are less observed from the plots Additionally a plot are also the unit of land use and control affecting the development of the surface It connects to the establishment of the landscape and urban functions The larger the plot is the greater it influences Therefore in the face of a city that is developing faster and faster it is helpful to provide a reference for urban landscape management by summarizing the characteristics of urban large plots Therefore this study explores the "plot" which is an important element of urban morphology and taking Tainan which is a historical city of Taiwan as a study area It observes and analyzes the spatial distribution and morphological evolution of the 1953-2016 plots This study analyzes the overall plots in different periods by spatial auto-correlation analysis and percentage rating analysis to find out the spatial aggregation and distribution of the urban large plots And based on the town-plan analysis form Conzenian as the basis of the morphological analysis method Calculate and visualize geometric measure of urban large plots which is including area openness compactness and building coverage Comprehensively discuss the characteristics of various types of large urban plots with the geometric measure of plot building types land use and division and amalgamation processes mode of plot find out the different impacts of various analysis items on the plots and discuss related urban landscape and urban development issues It can be known which kind of land features are easy to be highly developed or need to pay attention to future development for a long time and initially discussing the possible ways to manage the city with geometric measure of plot and division and amalgamation processes mode To establish a way to interpret urban structure and urban development from the perspective of plot as basic information for urban design guidelines and land use control and development recommendations
