Abstract

Due to the climate change all over the world Taiwan also suffers from the affects especially there were often the drought occurred by the lack of rainfall in the Southern Taiwan during the Summer Which is resulted in the huge impact in economic development of agricultural industrial Today the accumulated siltation is damaging reduced water storage because of the lack of Sediment Removal Facility amount most of farm ponds Therefore the studies on the sustainable development and management on the siltation removal of slopeland farm ponds are much important than before A new vertical shaft type with an open pipe at the bottom end in the dam-type farm ponds is used to create hydraulic vortex gravity and pressure difference to flush out the sediment silted up inside farm ponds Without external power sources or energy to transport silt the model of slope land farm ponds Sediment removal facilities is studied to identify whether is able to improve siltation accumulation According to the results of 27 sets of indoor modeling we found that the effects of sediment removal under the dam-type farm ponds are significant and effective
