What Factors Affect Taiwanese Indigenous on the Willingness to Participate in Vocational Training

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore the factors affect Taiwanese indigenous people's willingness to participate in vocational training A total of 14 256 valid samples from “Employment Status Survey of Indigenous Peoples” fourth quarter in 2015 After selecting samples only 7 572 individuals were used as study samples Because the dependent variable was a binary variable logistic regression was used as the research method Research results show that people living in aboriginal areas will reduce their willingness to participate in vocational training Female is willing to participate in vocational training than male It is suggested that the relevant sectors have deep research of the influencing factors By this information to plan relevant employment policy For example developing industries with indigenous characteristics may create job opportunities Whether it is employed or unemployed those who have participated in vocational training in the past will increase their willingness to participate in vocational training again This shows that people agree that vocational training can help employment However the current proportion of indigenous people actually attending vocational training is low It is suggested that the relevant sector improve propaganda and increase the incentives for participating in vocational training so that vocational training can maximize its effectiveness
