組織簡介
職能治療是利用活動以幫助病人或個案恢復心智功能，發展調適技巧，維持既有之生活功能並預防功能退化、失常，使能回歸社會主流的一種專業。台灣社會由於老年人口成長，慢性生理及精神病患劇增，對職能治療專業的仰賴益趨重要。本系於民國七十九年八月成立，以培養社會亟求的專業人力，當時為復健醫學系職能治療組，至民國八十三年八月獨立設系，正式成為職能治療學系。課程自八十四年起已完全符合世界職能治療師聯盟（WFOT）之規定。隨著社會高齡化與身心障礙者人口的增加，對於高級臨床與研究專業人才的需求也日益增加，同時為順應世界職能治療專業教育之潮流，本系在民國九十二年成立職能治療碩士班課程，並與護理學系、物理治療學系、行為醫學研究所共同成立健康照護科學研究所博士班，成為培育台灣優秀職能治療人才之重要機構。
