摘要

Cementitious foams with various relative densities were made by mixing cement paste with different fractions of carbon black and by using a mechanical foaming process. The main material parameters in mixture design were carbon black percentage and relative density. A series of cement binders with carbon black, cementitious foams with and without carbon black were produced respectively. Under the same sunlight condition, the inside temperature changes of cementitious foam specimens were first measured and then compared to one another. It is found that the relationships between temperature change and carbon black percentage or relative density are nonlinear. Consequently, optimal carbon black percentage and relative density are proposed. Also, camera equipped with image-analyzing software was employed to characterize the pore size distributions of cementitious foams with and without carbon black. Meanwhile, the water absorptions of cementitious foams were tested and then compared. It is confirmed that the water absorptions of cementitious foams with carbon black are consistently higher than those without carbon black. Hence, cementitious foams are promising as thermal and sound insulators. Furthermore, TCLP measurement on cementitious foams indicates that they are green construction materials.
