N2 - In this article, the evaporation of a spherically symmetric single core compound drop with constant properties was numerically studied. Depending on whether the boiling point of inner core liquid or the outer shell liquid is higher, there are two scenarios. Dodecane, ethanol, and water were chosen as the representative fluids for computation. The histories of surface temperature, interface temperature, center temperature, and evaporation rate of the compound drop are presented. For a dodecane-in-ethanol compound drop, the evaporation rate of ethanol decreased with increasing dodecane content. For a water-in-dodecane compound drop, the data show that the evaporation rate of dodecane slightly decreased with increasing water content.
