N2 - This paper presents a bridgeless-type AC-side continuous-conduction-mode (CCM) voltage-source current-source (VSCS) charge-pump (CP) power-factor- correction (PFC) electronic ballast in order to have less component count than the conventional DC-side ones. The configuration derivation of proposed ballast is illustrated. Finally, 32W-rated power electronic ballast prototype circuit is designed and implemented. Experimental results validate that the input current harmonics meet the IEC 61000-3-2 Class-C Standard, and the CP capacitor helps the PFC inductor current to achieve CCM and high PF.
