Analysis and planning of indoor ventilation for shrimp farming

摘要

Both whiteleg shrimp and Asian tiger shrimp are mostly farmed in open-air ponds, causing this shrimp vulnerable to environmental impacts and diseases. This study investigated the design and environmental criteria for indoor shrimp farms to ensure the environmental quality of such farms through the application of Comfort Zone Theory in the context of bioclimatology. CFD was applied to simulate and plan an ideal air circulation route in order to improve indoor ventilation effectively and achieve favourable indoor air quality. The results could serve as a reference for configuring a shrimp farming environment that would sustainably provide excellent bioclimate conditions.
