Cold flow simulation of a meso-scale combustor for personal power system

摘要

This paper presents a numerical investigation of the 2D turbulent and incompressible swirling flow in a meso- scale combustor for personal power system. Commercial software is used to couple with the low Reynolds number k −ε model to Chien’s (1982) for the simulation of the flow field characteristics in various air flow rate conditions. Velocity data in the vicinity of the chamber exit by using the Stereo particle image velocimetry (SPIV) technology performed by the research group are used to verify the numerical results. . The complicated swirling flow field and detailed recirculation structure in the meso-scale combustor revealed by numerical will be used for the further study of the fuel-air mixing and flame stabilization mechanisms in the future.
