abstract = "In order to modify an NA engine to a turbo engine, the first step is to choose a right turbocharger. TC449 has been chosen to be the engine model. The engine model is built by using the 1D gas dynamics simulation software. Its performance is analyzed and discussed before it is modified to a boosted engine. Several parameters from the simulation results reduce the estimation and iteration process. The turbocharger is selected and the turbo engine is modeled. Its performance could be obtained from new simulation results. These results are very helpful. For example, the maximum peak cylinder pressure is relative to its mechanical strength. Thus the reliable turbo engine could be made through this computational study.",
