Crystallization kinetics of 3 mol% Y2O3-ZrO 2 (3Y-PSZ) nanopowders prepared by a coprecipitation process

摘要

The crystallization kinetics of the 3 mol% yttra (Y2O 3) partially stabilized zirconia (3Y-PSZ) nanopowders has been investigated by isothermal processes. When the 3Y-PSZ precipitates are calcined at 773 ∼ 1073 K for 2 h, the crystal structure is composed of tetragonal and monoclinic ZrO2. The crystallite size of tetragonal ZrO2 increases with calcinations time and temperature increased. The monoclinic ZrO2 content increases with the calcinations temperature and time increased. However, the tetragonal ZrO2 content decreases when the calcinations temperature and time increased. The activation energy from tetragonal isothermal transformation to monoclinic is 7.02 kJ.mol-1.
