Displacement-based seismic discontinuous deformation analysis

摘要

This study discussed the newly developed displacement-based seismic DDA for the seismic analysis. In the displacement-based seismic DDA, the time-dependent displacement constraints based on the conventional fixed point is used to simulate the seismic behavior of the base rock. The gravity force and the contact forces among blocks govern the behavior of the siding rocks. The computational results indicate that in displacement-based calculations, the average of the coordinates of the displacement constraints must coincide with that of centroid point of the base block. Additionally, the computational results of the conventional acceleration-based seismic DDA, which applied seismic accelerations to the sliding blocks, conflicts with d'Alembert's principle of mechanics after comparing the computational results of the new displacement-based seismic analysis to the conventional acceleration-based seismic computations. The new displacement-based seismic DDA is a useful technique in seismic analysis.
