N2 - Tile dynamic response of a non-miifoim beam witli tune dependent elastic bomidary conditions is studied by geiieralizuig tile metliod of Muidlm-Goodnian and utilizing tlie exact solutions of general elastically restramed noii-miifonn beams given by Lee and Kuo. The time dependent elastic bomidary conditions for the beam are formulated. A general fonn of change of dependent variable is uitroduced and tlie slufting polynomials of tlie tliird order degree, instead of tlie fifth order degree polynomials taken by Muidlhi-Goodinau, are selected. 'Hie physical meaning of these slufthig polynomial fmictions are explored. Finally, tlie liinituig case.s are discussed and several exainple.s are given to illustrate tlie analysis.
