Effect of motion curves on the kinematic performances of variable lead screw mechanisms with ruled- and involute-revolution surface meshing elements

摘要

The purpose of this research is to study the effect of motion curves on the kinematic performances of variable lead screw mechanisms (hereinafter VLSM) with different meshing elements. Three kinds of ruled- and two kinds of involute-revolution surface meshing elements are adopted. Five motion curves are studied. For evaluating the performances of the mechanisms, transmissivity, manipulability and total transmission indexes are applied, and computer programs are developed. It is found that convex involute-revolution surface meshing elements and polynomial curve 1 are the best among the five kinds of meshing elements and five motion curves, respectively.
