In this paper, the primary concern is the influence of the human body on the antenna characteristics of a loop antenna which is usually used in a pager. A coupled antenna-body system consisting of a thin-wire circular loop antenna and a 3-D body object is analyzed. Coupled integral equations (CIE) are developed for the loop antenna current and the induced electric field in the body. These equations are solved numerically by using the method of moments (MoM). Numerical results of the loop antenna input impedance and far-field pattern of the antenna-body system are presented.
