摘要

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the formation of single pulse detonation wave. Measurements were made for the effects of propane-oxygen mixture equivalence ratio and test chamber geometry. The peak pressure associated with the detonation wave increases with the increase of mixture equivalence ratio and approaches the theoretical von Neumann spike pressure for the fuel-rich mixture (φ>1), where φ is equivalence ratio. The DDT induction distance was minimized at φ≈1.0, in which the geometric effect is not significant. For the fuel-rich or fuel-lean mixtures, the DDT (deflagration-to-detonation transition) induction distance increases more rapidly at a length-to-diameter ratio of L/D=6 than that at L/D=4.
