FDTD computation of fat layer effects on SAR distribution in a multilayered superquadric-ellipsoidal head model and MRI-based heads proximate to a dipole antenna

摘要

Extensive FDTD computation of fat layer effects on the SAR distribution of head models closed to a dipole antenna at 900 and 1800 MHz was presented. Computational results show that basically the absorption rates of the superquadric head model, ranging from 76% to 56% for 1- to 2cm-antenna-distance, are highest compared with the other head models. It was observed that the trend is the same for the three head models, that is the head with a thicker fat layer has a higher value of the peak-SARs at 900 MHz and lower value of those at 1800 MHz. The results revealed that the study of fat layer effects of the head is important for the investigation of the exposure assessment for the wireless handset antenna.
