Fuzzy Hierarchical Analysis to Construct Factors for Purchasing Language Online Courses

研究成果: Conference contribution

摘要

After the Covid-19 pandemic, online learning and remote education became global trends. This study explores online language courses to understand factors influencing post-pandemic consumer choices. Through focus group interviews, 18 factors emerged, grouped into 5 categories via Principal Component Analysis (PCA): "A. Course Quality and Instruction,""B. Extracurricular Opportunities and Interaction,""C. Overall Course Iterative Updates,""D. Certificate Accreditation and Recognition,"and "E. Flexibility in Course Planning."Using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process, "D. Certificate Accreditation and Recognition"was most important (weight: 0.304), followed by "E. Flexibility in Course Planning"(weight: 0.214). Post-pandemic, consumers prioritize certification for career and academic benefits, valuing course flexibility too, reflecting self-directed learning needs. This study guides providers in optimizing courses for consumer needs, offering strategic advice for institutions and platforms. Future research could explore more online language learning factors or combine methodologies for deeper insights.
