摘要
Refuse-derived fuel (RDF) was mechanically separated from MSW in a 300 TPD (tons per day) waste pretreatment plant. Refuse-derived fuel represents a significant quantity of energy. Recovery of part of this energy content in a form of syngas would be environmentally attractive. Gasification of RDF was conducted in a thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA) to obtain the data of thermal degradation kinetics. At least two main distinct weight loss stages in the TGA feature are found for RDF gasification. About >92% (dry basis) of hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO) were generated at 1473 K and 40.85 atm in a 0.465 m3 gasifier. In addition to the syngas generation, approximately 4.35×106 kcal/hr of thermal energy may be recovered from the RDF gasification process. The cold gas efficiency (CGE) of the RDF gasification was 79-84%, which may be improved by operating the gasification at an O/C atomic ratio between 1.00 to 1.20.
